Conservative Leaders Urge Congress to Pass KOSA and SCREEN Act

More than a dozen conservative organizations call on House and Senate leadership to empower parents and protect children online this Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A coalition of 18 conservative organizations representing millions of parents, families and people of faith today sent a letter to House and Senate leadership urging passage of the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the Shielding Children’s Retinas from Egregious Exposure on the Net Act (SCREEN Act) before the end of this Congress.

These groups, united in protecting faith, freedom, and family, contend that as America enters a new era of super intelligence, technology must strengthen families rather than undermine them. The letter warns against tech companies using addictive algorithms on children, exposing them to pornography, and gaining access to kids without parents in charge.

“Technology companies should not have access to our children without parents in charge, nor exploit our children’s developing minds for profit, nor steal their innocence through access to pornography,” conservative leaders wrote. “Waiting decades for protections for our children that meet our American values is long enough.”

The coalition notes that leaders within the technology industry have also supported stronger online protections for children, and that America can lead the world in SI while staying true to the values that made it strong.
